In Tuoro, you can visit the Documentation Center on the Battle of Lake Trasimeno and Palazzo del Capra. You can also follow the Hannibalic Trail, retracing the steps of the Carthaginian leader who defeated the Roman army in the plain of Tuoro in 217 BC.

Not to be missed is Isola Maggiore in Lake Trasimeno, a small fishing village of medieval origin where Saint Francis spent a period of Lent in retreat.

From here, Siena, Cortona, Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto, and Città della Pieve to the south, as well as Città di Castello, San Sepolcro, Anghiari, and Monterchi to the north, can be reached in a short time. For those staying a week, we recommend day trips to Rome and Florence as well.
